Anything is possible…
January is usually the time where everyone says ‘New Year, New Me’ and sets a number of ‘New Year’s Resolutions’ (NYR) which more often than not don’t get achieved for some reason or another.
I’m an avid gym member and as soon as the 2nd January hits everyone is in the gym and by the 2nd February that number has drastically reduced and you won’t see them again for another year!
If you are one of the people that has set a ‘NYR’ or has set ‘goals’ as you don’t want to call them a ‘NYR’ to keep you focused here is a story that will make you inspired and believe anything is possible.
Jasmin Paris completed the Montane Spine Race, from Derbyshire to the Scottish borders, (268miles) in 83 hours, 12 minutes and 23 seconds which smashes the previous record by over 12hours! The Competitors spend two-thirds of the race in the dark and carry all their own kit and supplies. They also have no personal support team or runner with them on the course. Competitors have one week to complete the gruelling race, which travels over hilly terrain and covers 43,000ft of climbing - more than Everest at 29,000ft. Now, I’m not saying for everyone to suddenly start thinking this could be them after 1 week of running. But what I am saying is that if you have the determination, positive mindset and work hard this could be you (with enough practise). So, if you are reading this thinking ‘I don’t want to go to the gym tonight’ or ‘do I really have to keep eating healthy’ or ‘when will dry January finish?’ then all I can say is YOU CAN DO THIS!!
As well as giving you all a good story and pep talk, I’m a pretty good Recruiter. So, if you are looking for a new job or a client looking for that ideal candidate please don’t hesitate to get in touch today!
