Premier Inn confirms it will open a 104-bedroom, £6 million hotel at The Brewery in Cheltenham, creating 35 jobs
Premier Inn confirmed today that it will open a hotel in The Brewery complex, Cheltenham.
The 104-bedroom, £6 million hotel is due to be completed by summer 2016, creating 35 full and part-time jobs.
Its entrance will be on the corner of Henrietta Street and High Street and it will include one of its trademark The Kitchen restaurants.
The Premier Inn chain is owned by the Whitbread group, which used to own the former Flowers Brewery site.
John Bates, head of acquisitions for Premier Inn, said: “Getting construction going with our new Premier Inn for Cheltenham is great news. Not only is this an excellent location in the town centre, but it’s also a case of Whitbread coming home.
“We’re investing more than £6m into The Brewery scheme and look forward to opening in summer 2016.”
The Premier Inn is just one new development heading to The Brewery.
The ten-pin Hollywood Bowl centre will open above restaurants at the site on November 10, taking over the site of Gala Bingo, which closed two years ago.
Three days earlier, the new IMAX screen will be showing its first movies at Cineworld on November 7, offering Hollywood blockbusters on an ultra high-quality screen, which is viewed through 3D glasses
Premier Inn will also open an hotel on the site of the former lorry park next to the Kingsmeadow roundabout in Cirencester.
As well as a 60-bed hotel, the 1.5 acre site will also include a Beefeater restaurant, creating around 50 new jobs, around half of which will be offered to those who have been long-term unemployed.
