Business Intelligence Manager 

Up to £55,000

Our Client, a leading global communications company is seeking a BI Manager to join their Gloucester/Bracknell operation. Working for a successful company in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will be working under pressure and on your own initiative.

You will be responsible for providing technical expertise to the organization, as well as project planning and providing direction/assistance to groups that the team interacts with. 

Main responsibilities: 
•Provide leadership and direction to the team on all projects

•Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members

•Monitor tasks and project assignments in progress to ensure project schedule is being met

•Provide final reports and recommendations to management 

•Maintain and establish a relationship with vendors and suppliers

•Coordinate and manage vendor activities to include negotiating due dates and installation, timeframes, debugging, moves and any changes within a timely manner

•Evaluate problems and recommend alternative solutions 

•Ensure problems are followed through to completion and that resolution results are communicated to the end user 

•Be an escalation point for problems 

•Identify any trends in systems problems to determine causes and then develop strategies and improvements to reduce any future occurrences

•Ensure the customers needs are met and they receive a quality service

Skills and experience:   
•Bachelors degree within a Computer related subject or equivalent years’ experience

•Previous team management experience 

•Experience of the whole system development lifecycle

•Dimensional Modeling

•Business Intelligence Development

•Data Governance

•Agile Project Management

•Web Development


•An awareness of GDPR and the impact to system development and the wider business

•Awareness/experience of the following technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, Impala, Tableau, .NET development

•Knowledge of Systems and/or Database Security mechanisms (Encryption, Data Loss Prevention, etc.) is highly preferred
