Our client, a pioneering technology start-up is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join their technical team in Oxford on a full-time, permanent basis. You will be working with a team of experienced hardware and software engineers, data scientists and algorithm developers. The role will involve contributing to the forecasting efforts and new product development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing & developing probabilistic forecasting strategies for short-term prediction of household demand, microgeneration, hot water consumption and EV usage
  • Developing & maintaining necessary infrastructure to run and maintain the algorithmsImproving the run-time of existing algorithms
  • Contributing production code in an agile software environmentIdentifying opportunities to apply machine learning techniques to extract meaning and derive value

Skills and Experience:

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or similar
  • Strong technical/analytical abilities, preferably with a background in Power Systems
  • Knowledge of coding languages (Python with Panda or R)
  • Data manipulation skills (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience with machine learning software (Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch or Pyro)
  • Experience using AWS, including Lambda
  • Experience with git version control
  • Proven experience in implementing machine learning models
  • Proactiveness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • High quality, accurate and reliable reporting with exceptional attention to detail
  • Eligible to work in the UK
