As a Management Accountant/Financial Analyst, you will provide the full range of financial support including the preparation of monthly management accounts and associated information; annual reports and accounts; budgets; forecasts; cash management; transactions management; financial support to budget holders, projects and staff; liaison with external advisers, auditors and accountants; tax administration and other statutory requirements.


  • Producing monthly management accounts and associated reports for management and Board and continually making recommendations for improvement
  • Building good relationships with business partners including budget holders and staff
  • Preparing grant claims and contract invoices
  • Variance analysis, actions to address and forecast outturns with budget holders
  • Financial analysis and modelling to support business decisions
  • Budget setting and support to Head of Finance working with budget holders
  • System and process improvement including working with Head of Finance and IT on finance systems (esp. Sage 200 and Coretime timesheet system)
  • Preparing VAT returnsBank and ledger reconciliations
  • Payroll administration with outsourced providers
  • Budget model and reporting, including audit trail
  • Automating month end and associated reporting
  • Supporting with decision and bid proposal
  • Supporting the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and guidance for users


To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience in process improvement
  • Accustomed to working in agile, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environments
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Able to deliver to deadlines and quality
  • Excellent Excel skills and able to present clear and meaningful information
