Women Working in IT
Increasing the number of women working in IT could generate an extra £2.6bn a year for the UK economy, according to a new report commissioned by Nominet, a global internet registry company.
The report, released today to mark International Girls in ICT Day, found if the gender gap reduced and women filled the skills shortage in IT, the net benefit for the UK economy would be an extra £2.6bn each year.
Women currently make up less than one fifth of the IT workforce, and based on current trends the IT gender gap is set to widen slightly over the coming years, the report warns. - See more at: http://www.recruiter.co.uk
